Privacy Policy

Neatbase is developed and operated by Bitzag LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data Neatbase collects, how we use it, and your rights.

The short version: your data is yours. We store as little as possible on our servers, we never sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to train AI models.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

Notebooks, notes, fields, and all content you create in Neatbase are stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. If you have iCloud enabled, this data syncs across your devices through Apple’s CloudKit service. We do not operate the iCloud infrastructure and have no ability to access your private CloudKit data.

2. Web Forms

When you publish a web form from a notebook, the following data is sent to our server (form.neatbase.app):

• Form title, description, and field schema (field names and types)
• An optional logo image
• A randomly generated authentication token

When someone submits a response to your form, that response is temporarily stored on our server until your app imports it. Once imported, the response is automatically deleted from the server. Uploaded images from form submissions are also deleted after import.

We do not read, analyze, or share form responses. Our server acts solely as a temporary relay between the form respondent and your device.

3. Notebook Sharing

When you share a notebook, an encrypted copy of the notebook’s contents is uploaded to our server to enable syncing between participants. All shared data is end-to-end encrypted on your device before it leaves. The encryption key is embedded in the share link and is never transmitted to our server.

This means we cannot read or decrypt the contents of shared notebooks. Our server stores and relays encrypted data only.

When you stop sharing a notebook, all associated data is permanently deleted from our server.

4. Payments

Neatbase Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, billing address, or Apple ID. For details, see Apple’s Privacy Policy.

5. Analytics & Tracking

The Neatbase app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. We do not track your usage of the app.

Our marketing website (neatbase.app) uses Google Analytics to understand website traffic. This does not affect the app itself.

6. Information We Do Not Collect

Neatbase does not collect or store:

• Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
• User accounts or login credentials (there are none)
• Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
• Usage analytics or crash reports from the app

7. Data Retention

Web form data: Form responses are deleted from our server immediately after your app imports them. Form schemas persist on the server while the form is published and are deleted when you unpublish.

Shared notebook data: Encrypted notebook data persists on our server while the share is active. When the owner stops sharing, all data is permanently deleted.

Local data: Data stored on your device and in iCloud is under your control. Deleting the app or removing data from iCloud removes it permanently.

8. Data Security

All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit). Shared notebook data is end-to-end encrypted before leaving your device. We follow reasonable industry practices to protect the data on our servers, but no system is 100% secure.

9. Third-Party Services

Neatbase relies on the following third-party services:

• Apple iCloud (CloudKit) — for syncing your data across your own devices
• Apple App Store — for app distribution and subscription payment processing

Each service is governed by its own privacy policy. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

10. Children’s Privacy

Neatbase is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since Neatbase does not require an account or collect personal data, there is generally no children’s data to manage.

11. Your Rights

Because Neatbase stores your data on your own device and in your own iCloud account, you have full control over it at all times. You can view, edit, export, or delete any of your data directly within the app.

For server-stored data (web forms or shared notebooks), you can delete it at any time by unpublishing the form or stopping the share. If you need assistance, contact us at support@bitzag.com.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Neatbase after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
