Neatbase is designed and built by Seb Fontan, a developer based in Kentucky. It started with a simple frustration: notes apps are too loose, and spreadsheets are too rigid. There had to be something in between — something that lets you define your own structure without feeling like you’re building a database.

That’s Neatbase. A native app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that gives you the flexibility of a notes app with the structure of a spreadsheet. No Electron wrapper, no web view — just SwiftUI built for Apple platforms.

Neatbase is completely bootstrapped. No venture capital, no investors, no growth-at-all-costs pressure. Just one person building software that’s meant to last. Every feature ships when it’s ready, not when a roadmap demands it.

Privacy is a core principle, not a marketing checkbox. Your data lives on your device and syncs through your personal iCloud account. When you share a notebook, everything is end-to-end encrypted — the server only ever sees ciphertext. There are no ads, no data harvesting, and no tracking beyond basic, anonymous site analytics.
