Neatbase is a personal database app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It lets you create notebooks with custom fields (text, numbers, dates, ratings, tags, images, and more) so every note follows the structure you define. Think of it as a notes app that thinks like a spreadsheet.

A notebook is like a custom database you design yourself. You choose the fields. For example, a “Client Directory” notebook might have fields for name, email, phone, company, and status. Each entry in a notebook is called a note. So the notebook defines the structure, and your notes are the individual records that follow it.

Every notebook can be viewed two ways. Notes view shows your data as individual cards, great for browsing and editing one note at a time. Table view shows everything in a spreadsheet-style grid with sorting, filtering, group-by, and inline editing. Ideal when you need to work with lots of data at once. You can switch between them anytime, and each device remembers your preference per notebook.

Neatbase is a native app built with SwiftUI. It runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your data syncs seamlessly across all your Apple devices via iCloud.

Yes. Your data is stored locally on your device, so you can create, edit, and browse notebooks without an internet connection. When you’re back online, iCloud syncs your changes across all your Apple devices automatically.

Yes! The free plan includes up to 3 notebooks with 50 notes each, 24 field types, card and table views, iCloud sync, notebook groups, and CSV export. Want unlimited notebooks and notes, advanced field types (Formula, Reference, Comments), notebook sharing, web forms, and REST API access? Upgrade to Pro for $34.99/year.

With Pro, you can publish a web form linked to any notebook’s fields. Share the link with anyone. They don’t need the app. When someone submits the form, their response automatically appears as a new note in your notebook. You can customize the form with your own logo and button color. Great for surveys, signups, feedback, and order forms.

Yes! You can share any notebook by generating a link. Others can join and collaborate: adding notes, editing fields, and uploading images. Changes sync automatically. All shared data is end-to-end encrypted: the encryption key is embedded in the link itself, so the server never has access to your content. No accounts or sign-ups required.

Each shared notebook supports up to 10 participants: the owner plus up to 9 others. Everyone can add notes, edit fields, and upload images. There are no viewer-only roles; all participants have full access.

27 types including: short text, long text, number, currency, date, toggle, rating, tags, select, image, email, phone, URL, secret text, barcode, QR code, duration, percent, color, button, and (Pro) reference, formula, comments. You can also add section dividers, headings, and descriptions to organize your note layout. New field types are added over time.

Your data is stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud to your personal Apple account. We never see, access, or store your data on our servers. When you share a notebook, all shared data is end-to-end encrypted, and the server only sees ciphertext. The only exception is web form responses, which are temporarily stored on our server until the app imports them into your notebook.

Your data is safe. Personal notebooks are stored in iCloud and will reappear automatically when you reinstall. Shared notebooks are restored from the server on your next launch. The only things you’ll need to reconfigure are local view preferences like column widths and sort order.

Yes. On Mac, you can export entire notebooks as CSV files that open in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, or any spreadsheet app. You can also export individual notes as formatted text. Export is available on the free plan.

Not yet, but we’re working on it. In the meantime, you can use the REST API (Pro) to push data into Neatbase from any source: CSV files, spreadsheets, or other apps.

Pro is billed through the App Store, so you can cancel anytime from your Apple account subscription settings. After cancellation, you keep Pro access until the end of your billing period. Your data is never deleted. Your existing notebooks and notes are always accessible. You just won’t be able to create new ones beyond the free limits.

Your notebooks and notes are never deleted. After your subscription ends, you can still view and edit everything you’ve created. You just can’t exceed the free plan limits (3 notebooks, 50 notes each). Pro features like sharing, web forms, and the REST API stay active for 7 days after your subscription expires, giving you time to renew or export your data. After that, shared notebooks are unshared and web forms are unpublished, but the data stays on your device. If your renewal fails due to a billing issue, Apple will automatically retry. You won’t lose access while they try to resolve it.

We chose a single annual plan to keep things simple. At $34.99/year, that works out to under $3 a month. You can cancel anytime from your Apple account settings and keep access until the end of the billing period.

Yes. A single Neatbase Pro subscription covers every iPhone, iPad, and Mac signed into the same Apple account. There’s no per-device charge. Family members on the same iCloud account also get Pro access at no extra cost.

Not at the moment. Neatbase is built natively for Apple platforms (iPhone, iPad, and Mac) to provide the best possible experience. We may explore other platforms in the future based on demand.
